Monday morning kickoff

‘A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night, and in between he does what he wants to do' - Bob Dylan.

"Success means never having to wear a tie." - seen on a Tantra T-shirt in Mumbai.

Oh stop being cryptic, will you?! What is it you've got to get done today/this week?

Me - finish reading a book and making a damn presentation on it. Not deep, not life-changing, but rather necessary.

No intention of being cryptic at all. But since you asked.

1) Sell my house for enough to break even on transfer costs etc. HaHa.
2) Handover my work to the phantom that's taking my place.
3) Find new schools for kids.
4) Complete my seriuosly overdue tax returns.
5) Write a thesis from scratch in 2 weeks or risk throwing away 2 years of MPhil.
6)The list..goes on.

So...decision made..well done and congratulations! Just been catching up on a few of your posts, and wanted to say that your blog is far and away the most interesting of any that I read regularly. If I knew where to do it and took the trouble to look, I'd vote for ATW as best blog of the year...always a pleasure and a treasure..or two. Take care!

Wow - thanks Val I'm bowled over by the flattery .

But as Bowie said so well here.

And my essays lying scattered on the floor
Fulfill their needs just by being there

Oy, oy, oy. When does the move happen? My guess is realistically you're going to have to can #5 - as painful as it may seem.

Had you done any of the renovations you had planned for your current house yet? Holding thumbs that #1 will not be too difficult to accomplish.

Suddenly my task seems a hell of a lot more trivial :)

Oh ye of little faith re: #5. I haven't given up hope yet but I've never one to be overly realistic & one only needs 50.000001% to pass (and I've have a few of those on my academic record to prove it).

I'm gone by the end of the month. May even be in PE in time to catch LIVE live on my bday.

But, you're right, #1 is the biggy. Fortunately only got as far as getting quotes for the renovations and wall bashing. Will be sad though - it's just starting to feel like home.

Thanks for the additional bit of biography, Mr Scorpio :)

Hope Live makes the bday memorable...

And us Jozi types will miss the less prolific blogging PE will result in :(
